Test Post.....

If you get a chance, check out I Need That Record! It's on Netflix :

It's a documentary about the death of independent record stores, but they
talk about the real problem with the music industry: The record labels have
been taken over by bean counters who care more about making money than
growing artists. Record companies used to have people who worked with
artists to make them better, now they just pick a cute youngster, and throw
a producer at them to quantize, and pitch correct the crap they have, and
put it out.

From my perspective, the record companies got fat and lazy. They were so
used to music fans buying into every new format, that when the shift from CD
to MP3 came, they never really got it. They expect everyone to re-buy every
thing they ever owned on vinyl, 8 Track, casssette, and CD, even though the
copyright law doesn't support the supposition that ripping a CD is illegal.
That's the elephant in the room that no one wants to talk about. The labels
are plodding along hoping that everyone just comes around to their school of
though, and repurchases everything on iTunes / Amazon / etc, so that they
can clear more profit.

Anyway, enough of my rambling, check out the movie, it was very interesting.
